Number plate lights
« on: September 24, 2012, 06:59:25 pm »
Ive just noticed that the two bulbs that illuminate the number plate aren't working. I know that it is possible that both bulbs have blown, but a more likely reason would be a blown fuse. Ive looked in the handbook, but cant find anything about the fuse in question. Ive rung my local Mazda dealer, but the only info I can glean from them, is that it is the TMS fuse, whatever that is. Theres no reference to it in the handbook and all I can assume is that it stands for Tyre Monitoring System, which I don't have anyway.
Anybody out there got any idea where I can find the offending fuse please?

Just take the bulb out and check the element. That should tell you whether its blown or not.

Certainly quicker to check the bulbs than find the fuse !

I took the bulbs out just after I posted the topic and they're ok. Just for good measure, I tried a spare I had and that didnt work either so its a fuse or a dodgy connection somewhere.

Sorry to jump on this post. I see someone said it's pretty simple to change rear number plate bulbs. I can't seem to prise the clear lenses off them. Is there something I'm doing wrong. Thanks
