Exterior Lighting / No Dipped headlights
« Last Post by Rupert on December 05, 2021, 06:00:43 am »
I have a 2010 ts2 estate and both dipped headlights have suddenly stopped working. I have changed the fuses and relays, with no luck. I'm thinking it could be the stalk, anyone come across this before?

Troubleshooting / Mazda 6 Sport 2016 2.2 - Faulty Sensors
« Last Post by Zielonyman on December 01, 2021, 08:40:46 pm »
Hello All,

For a while, I've been experiencing intermittent issues with my Mazda 6.
My car does struggle sometimes whilst cruising between 1.8-2.5k rpm (as if it was choking, also hesitatates during acceleration).
It seems like the fuel consumption is higher than it should be.

I had it checked by a mechanic and no faults were found.
Had it fully serviced, replaced SCV valve, had the engine carbon cleaned which helped for a few days.
I've cleaned MAF & MAP sensors, which helped further (MAP was completely covered with carbon).
I wanted to get my EGR and Intake Manifold cleaned next (walnut blasting) as I suspect EGR valve could be causing it (DPF would be next on my list).

Whilst checking the live data I've noticed that:
-Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor 1 (Bank 1) is stuck at -40 degrees Celcius
-Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 4 (Bank 1) is also stuck at -40 degrees Celcius

I'm not sure what the correct temperature should be, but the fact that it doesn't change would suggest these sensors are faulty.

Have you experienced similar issues?
Do you know where are these sensors located?
What are your readings for these 2 sensors?

I've purchased a Haynes Manual for my car but it seems like it does not contain this information.

I would much appreciate it if you could help me out

Many Thanks

Vehicle Entertainment / Navigation Systems / Mazda 6 2014 Head unit

Can anyone tell me if there is a DAB head unit upgrade for the 64 plate, but I don't want to lose my parking sensor display. Mazda won't fit one for me, they say I must buy an aftermarket one and have it fitted independently. But I don't know which one is compatible. Halfords don't know either.

Further update cancelled garage booking as wing mirrors are now folding in and out perfectly using button on drivers outside door handle. Didn't look forward to them taking the door panel etc apart,as my service experience was bad.enough with this garage, not enough oil used and dirty marks on cream leather and suede interior.

Vehicle Entertainment / Navigation Systems / SAT NAV live traffic updates
« Last Post by alan33 on November 23, 2021, 02:51:38 pm »
Hi I have been trying to USE a IPHONE12 with IOS 15.1 as a HOT SPOT so I can connect my 2018 Mazda 6 info center and receive traffic up dates and all the other extras, but it never worked.
I finally received a reply from MAZDA support is as follows
"I have raised this with our in-house specialized technical team, and I have been advised that the latest operating software update for  IOS devices is 15.1. I can confirm there is no software update currently available for the infotainment system within your Mazda car for IOS updates 12 onwards(excluding 12). We cant confirm a date at this point in time if an update will be introduced for the infotainment system currently installed to accept the full features of IOS 15.1."
As the only way to keep your IPHONE secure is to keep it updated I am not sure if MAZDA are abounding the MAZDA 6 info center all together., my be it is better to buy a phone Phone or not buy a MAZDA

Troubleshooting / Re: Head gasket replacement?
« Last Post by dmhelsby on November 20, 2021, 07:42:26 pm »
My car, a 2015 Mazda6 wagon with 2.2 Sky-Active Diesel Sport Nav with 83,00mls, is also currently in Mazda main dealer having its head gasket replaced at a cost of £1900 quoted! Remains to be be seen if there is any damage to head or block? Apparently the head can not be skimmed according to Mazda technical dept.
Symptoms were: ineffective heater in cabin taking ages to barely warm up.
Even took it to another independent garage who diagnosed the same thing.

I asked the main dealer to report this to Mazda UK as I’ve never had this sort of problem in any vehicle in my whole driving experience of some 40 years. They were not interested to contribute or provide any help.
It seems I am not alone and surely there must be some design fault that Mazda are aware of and should be held accountable for?

Fingers crossed
David

Update on wing mirror not closing or opening fully,it's doing same again after being sprayed with wd 40.
So looking like a call to the garage is next thing to do,car still under warranty  so should be fixed foc.

Hi the sat nav is a MAZDA version, and the card is updated via the MAZDA tool box and now the issue solved.
I have been told even though the car is only 4 years old Mazda have no plans to update the software so it will connect to a IPHONE12 HOTSPOT if the IPHONE is running with a ISO greater than 12 in fact it appears no Phone with a HOTSPOT with modern security o WP3 as Mazda only support WPA or WPA2
