FSC warning message
« on: February 11, 2018, 09:38:34 am »
All,

I’ve just had the FSC warning message appear on the dashboard.
But what does it actually mean?
I’ve looked in the owners handbook and all it says is take the car to the main dealer
So what’s the actual fault?

Thanks
Simon

FSC = Forward Sensing Camera.  This camera and it's associated software has input to numerous systems on your car

i.e     High Beam Control System (HBC)
Lane-keep Assist System (LAS) & Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)
         Traffic Sign Recognition System (TSR)
         Smart City Brake Support (SCBS)
         Smart Brake Support (SBS)

Apart perhaps from the Traffic sign recognition,  all of these systems are safety critical.  It could be any one of the systems or just the camera itself that has a problem.
Impossible to diagnose without specialised equipment.

You need to go to your dealer.   Please keep us informed as your problem could be something that will be of interest to many others.
Look at life through the windscreen, not the rearview mirror.

Does it also say demist front screen completely if it does put the a/c on and full screen only fan that should clear it then keep the a/c on eco when ever it’s damp and cold. I have this come up now and again and doing what I said clears it but as I have all the auto electrics turned off it doesn’t really affect anything but if you rely on auto dip lane assist ect they will be affected till it clears.
Hope this helps
Cheers Steve

Willpower,

Thanks for that. I’ll let you know how it goes.
So far today the warning hasn’t reappeared on the dash.
Hopefully it’s the cars way of telling me to clean it ????????

Regards,
Simon
