K&N panel air filter improvements.
« on: November 09, 2015, 09:13:55 pm »
Hi guys,

I recently got a ts2 2.0 petrol Mazzie. Always thought about fitting K&N filter to my previous ones but I was told it is hard to notice the difference on turbo cars.
So I bought a filter for my new one. Drops directly in the box so it is perfect. The car sounds a bit meaner. Deeper engine noise. But the most important thing is the responsiveness of the engine. It just pulls straight away because of the direct airflow. It pulls better at lower revs you can honestly feel that the engine is more torqueier. I love it.
It is worth the £50, it is for lifetime you only need to clean it every 50k miles.

Cheers

Did this myself for my 2.2 Diesel Sport just the other day as I have done for my last two Mazda's (323F & 5).  Already noticed the performance is a lot better.  Would recommend.

**Quick Tip.  I got mind of Amazon, not direct from K&N website.  Was a bit cheaper and didn't have to pay for postage.  ;D

Hi Arran,

Sorry for the late reply.  The K&N filter I got was the "K&N 33-2278 Replacement Air Filter". My 6 is a 2010, but I think your motor should be the same.  They still have them on Amazon, unless you know of somewhere cheaper.

Cheers
