Shark fin antenna Loose on new 6 wagon
« on: April 10, 2015, 07:52:09 am »
hi guys,

The other day I was washing my car and I discovered that shark fin antenna is a bit loose on my car. I can move with my hand (make it rock).
Does anyone else have the same issue? I checked a couple of other brands on my street and they all seem to be solid. I can't seem to find Mazdas around my house. ;)
The car is a tourer 6 63 plate.

Thanks

That does not sound right, assuming you are still on warranty get the local Mazda dealer to have a look and sort as necessary.

I spoke to two dealers in London. They both said it is normal. They have no idea why Mazda does it. But the shark fins are loose on all their cars. :-\

Just looked at mine. It is bedded onto some sort of flexible gasket, presumably as a weather seal. There is a slight bit of flexibility but I certainly wouldn't describe it as loose. Plus the roof itself is thin enough to be flexible. No cause for concern in my case. I assume that there are screws or something similar under the headlining which secure it to the roof.

Okay the if yours is like that then it is okay. The reason I was concerned is on other brands is rock solid.
