Engine/Transmission/Powertrain/Exhaust / 2013 2.2d MAP sensor
« Last Post by Johnpants on August 03, 2023, 12:58:08 pm »
Hi guys,

I recently did a good clean out of everything in the engine, but whilst cleaning the map sensor the little metal pin snapped off. Now I've come to get a replacement, but struggling to find a direct replacement. None of the motor factors have them in or can get them and some even list different parts for my car. Has anyone had experience in replacing one of these? Are there any from different manufacturers other than Bosch? The part number on the back is 0261230319, GSF reckon the part for my car is 0261230318, but even that one I'm struggling to get hold of.

If anyone could help out it would be much appreciated.

John.

Accessories / Tow bar installation
« Last Post by Andzz on July 19, 2023, 04:48:41 pm »
Need help. Has anyone fitted a towbar and wired it up without the dedicated cable. Mines a 14 plate diesel, if I could get away with the specific dedicated cable. I've spliced in on other cars but read somewhere that the mazda 6 needs it, but for the life of me can't find where I read it. Called Mazda, and they only do a 13pin not the 7 that I need, they also could not, or would not tell me if I could just splice into the existing light cables, or if a seven pin was available. Any ideas?

Check connections to the canbus in the nearside rear corner behind the upholstery.
Was it aftermarket or came as standard with the car from the factory?
There is a cable that runs along the near side and plugs into the back of the radio somewhere, to give you the video on the screen.
Check connections to camera itself in the boot lid behind the cover.
Could be a broken cable somewhere, the part that moves with from the boot is a likely candidate.

Its possible those two sensors are not used, one of mine on the intercooler reads the same, so check the other exh & air temp sensors, if they make sense ingnore those two.

You have to realise that the motoring organisatoons are on KPI's, the morepeople they see in a day the more browny points they get at review time.
So they come to you and you have codes up. Cancel the codes and away you go, then they come up again.
The Codes are there to tell the mechanic there is something wrong. Now some of the codes are a bit generic unless you can interpret from the code number what they mean and follow it with other tests.

I drove for a few thousand miles with a DPF  code up  which meant the dpf was regening too frequently, it took my SM a while to,find the problem and it was only found after he spoke to Mazda Eur in Kent and it appears it was a known problem but they didn't inform the dealers.

It's been some time since your last post, what was the outcome?

Hi all.

I am hoping someone can help.

2011 GH 2.2d (180hp)

Currently sitting on 166000 miles.

Chain done at around 80k by mazda main dealer

Now, I have done a Forscan scan and the reading on the chain stretch is showing at 13.74.....

I have been told this should be less than 10.5, but when asking on FB forums, they have not heard of a stretch as high as I have.

So, is there something that could explain this reading?

Full dealer service done yearly, car runs clean and quiet (as much as a diesel can be) and no errors, flashing dpf lights etc.... Confused!

Don't want to spend £1000 on getting it done if it doesn't need doing.

Help oh wise ones!

Many thanks - that's very helpful, and I'll have a go as you suggest.

The washer jets shouldn’t need any adjustment. You probably have a partial blockage either in the jet or the  pipes/ connectors behind it. You need to remove the plastic trim at the bottom of the screen (which is a bit of a faff) disconnect the pipes and blow through them to remove the blockage. Maybe try some kettle descaler on the washer jet itself.

When I had this problem both jets were dribbling water onto the bottom of the screen. I disconnected and checked for blockages. I found that a non return valve was blocked. This didn’t look like a Mazda part so I removed it. I now get a healthy blast of washer jet water which hits the middle of screen.

Thanks for that. As you say, usually the jets are adjustable balls, and that is indeed what I would have expected to find, having had washers that were adjustable in that way in most if not all of the cars I have owned. However, that is not what is fitted to my Mazda: there is simply a small slot, poking about in which fails to reveal anything that can be adjusted. My conclusion is that the washers cannot be adjusted, but if anyone who is familiar with the system fitted to the 2011 Mazda 6 has any advice, I'd be grateful to receive it.
