Title: Oil sump washer/gasket size ?
Post by: Calimero on December 30, 2019, 08:33:03 pm
Good day,

New to this forum and to car maintenance and looking to start light routine maintenance myself.

Just got the Castrol EDGE 5W-30 LL Engine Oil and Blue Print ADM52123 Oil Filter but looking at the expected oil size.

i am correct this is a 14mm (20mm outer) ? The manual does not specify such info.

Thanks for you help.

Eric

Are you sure about this blue print brand? From a quick search, it seems like an amazon product which costs the same as buying OEM products from established companies. Maybe you will be better with a Bosch or Mahle product.

I am not sure about the bolt sizes but that is the easy bit. If you realise that you do not have the right tools, just pause the change until you get the right sizes.

Eric,
Buy a washer from your local dealer, same with your filter and show them your receipt for your oil and you will able to have your own oil change added to your Service History.
I have had this done twice as I am now out of warranty and under mileage for the year
(not  that it makes a lot of difference to Mazda policy, though if you are not using the car then no wear is taking place, so services should be on mileage,  not time ).
