Have you looked underneath the carpeting in the drivers footwell ?

Look at life through the windscreen, not the rearview mirror.

If you are saying   " Vin I'd numbers are all over the car on little stickers."     surely one of them must have the paint code on it.  You are looking for something like   46L  or 25C  or 38R  It will not state the name of the colour just the code.   Find the code and then look it up on Google to give you the name of the colour.

Oh and in answer to your question. If you have found the VIN plate under the carpet then that will be the correct VIN for the car.  and Yes it is illegal to remove it.
Look at life through the windscreen, not the rearview mirror.

Still no paint code taking car to garage on Tuesday at the risk of sounding stupid will ask them. Been driving best part 35 yrsthis is the only car had issue with regarding paint code. Just looking to tidy up minor scatches some will buff out two won't. Again thanks for reply

I think you should have the VIN visible from the lower part of the passenger side windscreen, under the small plastic cover on the drivers' feet and in the engine bay. But you need that sticker with the extra information, otherwise you need to chase with the VIN.

Do you miss this sticker?

You can translate the codes using something like this:

Just been doing more research into this and it appears that not all gen 2 had paint code. Was neglected. For what ever reason also on some mazda 2/3.but yes should be able to source code through the vin code. It appears to be sunlight silver but will get this verified Tuesday. Surprised that no one else has run in to this. Thanks for help.
